Using Your Car For Work?
Other than commuting, you need to be reimbursed any time you are authorized to use your car for work. The Collective Bargaining Agreement outlines this clearly in Article 4.5 (see below).
For you Instructors and anyone that are suddenly called to change
locations—according to Article 4.5—you are supposed to be reimbursed! Make sure you read the insurance provisions too! You could really get screwed if you don't pay attention to these details.
Trackmen, unless you see a Standard Operating Procedure or Bulletin saying you must use CTA transportation—which I hope you would send to me if it exists—this may include you. This may also be applicable for Clerks, Supervisors, Leaders and Customer Assistants who do overtime reliefs or suddenly sent to a different location with all those silly "manpower" deficiencies they conveniently cite.
Tally up what was stolen from you and grieve it now.
If you need help, call the union vice presidents, a trusted union officer/steward. Even though Local 308 President Dixon would not recommend it, feel free to ask me as well (smile).

Regarding Flagmen, you are only authorized to use the CTA to get around to different worksites (according to ridiculous CTA Rules). So even if you use your own vehicle, getting reimbursed will probably not happen—and could get you written up if you report it.
