October 2022 Shop Pick Update (9/29)
Dear Shop coworkers (Servicers/Repairers/Motor Blowers): Brother Vice President Weems responded to me with questions about the upcoming Section Pick.
The CTA managers jumped the shark and were supposed post the Pick Sheets and Seniority List AFTER the Pick Meeting with the ATU—which should be occurring very soon (hopefully within 24 hours).
Also, the ATU has final say in that Seniority List that managers are having us sign. So there seems to be no reason to make us sign it.
In my opinion, this seniority sign-off sheet is typical CTA low-intensity harassment and mind-terror.
It is like when they have us sign off for little bottles of hand sanitizer, a lapel pin or gourmet “shut up be happy” sandwiches before they sold us Microtransit and 40-Hour PT jobs in that crappy Contract.
They love getting our signatures on stuff! But rarely do we see manager signatures on various assignments, letters and statements. Contract Proposal item: We should get $100 every time we sign something.
Anyway, I am not saying don’t sign the Seniority List. But I ain’t saying sign it either. I did and felt deceived after getting facts from VP Weems. As a union steward, I am learning alot about how we are disrespected on a low-intensity degree. They don’t do as much blatant disrespect compared to micro-aggressions.
Brother VP Weems sent me the full spreadsheets for all jobs and seniority, but asked me to hold off posting until confirming they are still correct after the Pick Meeting. I agreed. So look out for an update.
