The Collective Bargaining Agreement for ATU Local 308/241 guarantees you certain privileges if you have a newborn. See Article 15.19 and 15.20 below:
Both parents have privileges. While you are on leave, I highly recommend you also obtain intermittent FMLA approval too. Contact Sedgwick to get the right paperwork.
Obviously, this is not enough time off. We need at least double the amount.
Also, there is Illinois state law that guarantees certain rights for pregnant workers. It is known as Public Act 98-1050 (Amendment to the Illinois Human Rights Act) summarized below:
