Local 308 Repairer/Motor Blower/Servicer Draft Pick Sheets

Our very helpful Local 308 Vice President obliged my request for the spreadsheets of the Spring 2022 "Shop" Pick sheets. Although we disagree on a lot issues, I am always impressed with his professionalism and service to the members.

These are the draft Pick sheets that require us—the union—to review for problems. You may notice alot of "redline" jobs. Basically, by being cheap with our jobs before the Pandemic—and us not fighting back—the CTA created a deficit of manpower. This was exacerbated by the Pandemic. I suspect this was by design.

It is critical that we work according to the Rules and not speed up and volunteer to work on our off-days to accommodate these cutbacks. Although many believe this is a temporary issue, it does have some money-saving aspects that help our employer's bottom-line—while also hurting our jobs, pension and safety.

There is NO reason one man/woman should be doing their job alone—especially in the rail yards and on the front line.

Please review what you see and submit all corrections/concerns to the union office. As our Shop Executive Board Member threatened to put harassment charges on me, I cannot give you his name or contact information. However, you can always call the general number at the Local 308 office 312-782-4665.
