Tested Positive for Coronavirus?

Get Tested and Call Off
One of the few CTA managers I know who has a degree of respect for union workers, informed us what to do if you test positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19 and its variants).

  1. As soon as you believe you may have symptoms, get tested. If you do an at-home test—and it is positive—you must get another test done at a clinic or pharmacy.
  2. Immediately contact the Clerk or Manager at your Shop, Terminal or Garage to put you on the Sick List for Coronavirus. Do not share any other medical information.
  3. Set up a sick leave claim with Sedgwick according to this process. You should receive full pay for scheduled work days that you will be off. Learn more about the Sick Book in this article

Remember: This is for 5 calendar days only! So that includes your scheduled days off. The cheap, stingy mismanagement doesn’t want you to recover too well. That might cost them money. Still, if you have the right doctor's note—and are Full-Time Permanent for over a year—you can try to get Leave for 7+ days

Let our union President know—Sister Pennie McCoach—that you will settle for no less than 4 weeks of paid sick leave in the 2024 Contract.
