Reinstatement of Unvaccinated Coworkers and Positive Test Sick Leave

Until we get a signed agreement, this is as good as it is going to get!
Good news! Well, also not-so-good-but-good news. The CTA is offering to bring back the unvaccinated coworkers they brutally threw out on the street. Keep reading…

Also, they are continuing to honor a positive Coronavirus test result with up to 5 calendar days of paid sick leave (calendar days includes your two scheduled off days, so could end up being only 3 days paid). I wrote about this earlier. Some slimy or ignorant mismanagers are telling members it is 10 days. That is incorrect.

I want you to read all the details. Of course, the ATU letter is vague. I am getting no response from ANY officer for a copy of the agreement—which is disturbing.

The CTA letter has more detail. However, one of our new Executive Board Members, Brother Martin, obtained a two-page template that is being sent to the unvaccinated coworkers who the CTA fired. It is quite eye-opening and offensive.

The last few paragraphs are full of confusing jargon that has my eyes-crossed. These frigging lawyers are trying to trick us and it bothers me that our elected union leadership is silent on the issue. Please consult with an attorney or make sure you are well-rested before reading it.

Some takeaways that seem very clear:

  1. No back-pay.
  2. You keep your seniority.
  3. You will have 7 days to respond to the CTA after receiving the letter.

Do you think this is a good deal?
