Class Action Grievance: Stop The Overhaul

UPDATE (4/7/2025): Vice President Mark Weems fully supported the grievance and helped get the votes we needed to send it to arbitration. Lazy CTA mismanagement tried to trash it as "untimely." Hopefully, if we win an award from the arbitrator, those who did the work will be paid well.

For decades, CTA mismanagement has been pitting workers against each other. Their acceleration of union-busting is becoming quite brazen.

This time it is assigning Truck Shop-qualified Repairers 5000-series rehabilitation/overhaul work. Moreover, they are assigning one worker per rail car truck. This is absolutely unsafe. Such tasks are the domain of workers who are District 8 Machinists.

Effectively, CTA mismanagement is saving tens of thousands of dollars by scabbing Local 308 members against District 8 members. 

Below is Class Action Grievance 0325-26. Check it out and spread the word. It's not the best way to fight union-busting. But it is an important step in our protracted war against our cruel, law-breaking employer.
