ATU Logo Usage Statement

You can't stop me from using the logo when I defend and inform the membership
No, I will not stop using the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308 logo in my videos and educational materials without permission from the president.

Nor will cease speaking to the news-media about our working conditions without the president's permission.

I don't serve the presidents of our union. I ain't subordinate to none of them—including King Costa and his merry band of International Vice Presidents.

Ain't no "chain-of-command" other than one commander—and that is the Local 308 membership!

I was elected by ATU Local 308 members—and they pay for me to serve them!

If you don't like it, then put ATU Constitution Section 22 charges on me and have me removed from office. Good luck, though. There is nothing in our bylaws about using the logo. You might be able to squeeze a camel in the eye of needle with Section 9(i) and 25(r):

The bylaws do not forbid me from doing this

However, I am not promoting anything that has nothing to do with what I am mandated to do as per Section 15(a), 15 (b) and 15(c). Outside of that, I will need "permission from the Local [308 membership]."

I really don't care either way because I sleep well at night, knowing I am defending the members of our union. So keep wasting time trying to knock me down. For revolutionaries like me, every knock is a boost.
