Important October Events

Publicly speaking about workplace hazards and abuse for the purpose of improving working conditions is revolutionary. Doing this while off-duty will keep you from being written up. We now have two opportunities for such action.

October 12 "CTA Worker & Rider Town Hall" is an opportunity for Chicago's public transportation workers to share their suffering and discuss our fears about layoffs and punishment. We did one of these last year

Open to all public transit workers

October 6, "Stop the Violence" Protest:

Organized by ATU Presidents for Oct. 6

As always, the only thing our union presidents want to protest about is violence against us by deranged riders. Never do they protest about violence done to us and our Collective Bargaining Agreement. Never do they protest about specific hazards that trap us into being assaulted by lost souls.

Usually, these protests are "approved" by CTA management. Sometimes they provide bus transportation for them!

Check out my analysis about their obsession with policing as the solution to our problems.
