Rest in Peace Brother Alex Bailey

Brother Alex Bailey
UPDATE (9/25/2025): Funeral details are at this link

Fellow Local 308 member and Rail Car Repairer, Brother Alex Bailey has passed away suddenly.

I only worked with him once as he filled in as Shop Leader. He was easygoing and diligent. He was always friendly and dedicated. I hope those who knew him better will share comments about him. If I obtain funeral arrangements, I will update this article.

Testimonial from CTA retiree, Larry Howard:

"I worked with Alex Bailey numerous times at Harlem Shop. He was a hard worker and was easy to get along with, don't think I ever heard him raise his voice. He was reliable and always ready to do overtime. Sad to see that he passed away and wished he would've retired before any of this happened."

Testimonial from fellow Local 308 official and Switchman, Brother Martin Gallardo:

"I've known Bailey since I started at Harlem. Well loved by Switchmen. He and Joe taught us all over there and that's where the shop and us Switchmen are really family."
