New Law: Moms Gotta Get Paid For Pumping Milk!
Effective January 1st of this year, the CTA cannot punish employees who pump breast milk for their children with loss of pay! Illinois Public Radio published a report on it here.
Inform management or the Control Center you are taking a "personal" and find a private place to make it happen. Moreover, this is in addition to normal breaks, meal breaks, etc. If a mismanager harasses you about it, quote the Nursing Mothers In Workspace bill. It's number is SB212.
Additionally, I recommend filing Complaints and Grievances for every infraction. If you need assistance, feel free to contact me or any other trusted union person.
