The Jacked Up Union Meeting
I went to the meeting and broke radio silence for vacation to Vote YES For Kendra! We lost 18 to 22 for a chance to an arbitrator.
From finding all kinds of excuses to not help her and the outstanding defense of our cheapskate, demonic, outlaw employer to punish us when we get sick, I think our Vice President Brother Mark is definitely over-the-hill and needs to just resign.
He is a boss agent: A loyal representative for the CTA manager union. They run the so-called Local 308 Executive Board (Board of Executioners) and he demonstrates this sad reality every month.
He has very little sympathy for our undeserved suffering—nor does he posses any creativity for helping us solve problems. He has great sympathy for the fiscally irresponsible, scumbag CTA mismanagers who make us miserable. He never mocks them for wasting money either.
He brazenly lied that he didn't know that it is against the law for our employer to punish us when take sick children to the hospital. He mentioned it in a Board of Executioners meeting a few months ago and I brought it up again this month's Executioner meeting. He knows all about it. Yet he and our president keep defending the CTA punishing single moms who take their sick children to a hospital during an emergency.
At that Board of Executioners meeting, he told our FAKE "union" attorney to confirm it for him. That Temu "union" attorney told me he thought the law was only for promotions. A damnable "AI" chat-bot could understand it. Why can't he? It's probably because this undercover CTA lawyer doesn't work for us.
He brazenly lied that he thinks we deserve #PaidSickLeave. In a Board of Executioners meeting, he mocked my demand for it by saying "Brother Basir wants the CTA to pay people not to work!" Last year, he and our president called me "clown" and "f-ing liar" when I asked them why they waived our human rights for it.
He brazenly lied that climbing stirrups is a part of the CA job duties (JSN) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
He was constantly trying to shame Sister Kendra and others' grievances. What makes me so mad about him is that he tears up how the grievance should be, but he never calls the member up to correct it if there is a problem. It's every man/woman for himself and he acts as gatekeeper to JUSTICE!
He argued against members who wanted to see the so-called evidence of another CA who was being punished for cellphone use. The evidence was very weak.
He lied when he said the Executive Board (Board of Executioners) spends "8 hours" going over which grievances to trash (we have done at the most 5 hours).
He lied when he mocked my grievance about Flagmen. He mischaracterized it, took advantage of us not having what I wrote for examination and had Brother James summarize it in a way to make it sound stupid. Here is what I wrote:
"Effective immediately, we the following Flagmen of Forest Park terminal wish for Manager Bolanos to assign extra 8 hour work assignments on a rotating seniority basis to each and every Flagman based at Forest Park terminal. Currently, the process of assigning work has been done arbitrarily—creating income/wage disparities among us. The favoritism has also fostered poor working conditions through the strife that has been growing. That is a violation of Article 1.1 of the CBA. Extra work has previously consisted of various tasks such as office work. Attached are complaints many of us submitted about this issue."
A steward asked him if he could let us see all the grievances that were voted yes to arbitrate. He whined about it taking too long and that would not give the Executioners any work to do for "8 hours." Actually, we have never gone over 5 hours. So he lied about the "8 hours."
Also, the reason we have so many grievances is that he and our president abuse our dues money for patronage instead of taking the Executioners off work to educate and help members organize action against the mismanagers.
Moreover, if he would print out redacted cases and give them to the members, they could read them on their own. But that would be too democratic and members might see how he and Brother James poison the wells in their fake "just the facts" presentations of our cases.
He says we can't argue the Contract how we think it means. This is his gaslighting against how I find anything I can dig up in the Contract to defend us. But he refuses to condemn our rotten employer for doing that when they drop our health insurance while in Area 605. He also refuses to condemn them for cheating Rail Car Repairers out of our City Colleges courses.
Now I have to get my head fixed—back to my vacation. I will return your calls and messages next week.
Gotta check out of this hellish toxic waste before I hxng myself from the depression that is looming over me.
