Mayhem, Mismanagement and Fare Evasion

The murderer of our Brother Janitor—and attempted murder of our Brother Customer Assistant—was a predator of CTA workers and others. He is a man that is out of his right-mind who lacks self-control. 

He was determined to take out whoever he could get close to him. 

From his extensive record of wreaking havoc on others in our community, he was probably severely abused as a child and is probably living with multiple behavioral and/or psychological disorders. Like other lost souls that our profits-over-people society easily creates and discards, he was left to take out his misery on us.

However, this article isn't a treatise about our society. It's about a deception that needs correction: The false statements that a “fare dispute” led to it.

The phrases fare dispute and fare evasion are totally anti-worker and distract all blame and responsibility from our employer. It is a code word that tells the riders and spectators of this tragedy: The CTA worker are idiotic hot-heads and instigators. 

After our brother was slain, our union presidents never bothered to consult with the survivor BEFORE going public (he is in severe mental anguish from finding the body)! 

Then they made a press release and press conference (see below) to attribute this murder this to a fare dispute! 

It was NOT A FARE DISPUTE! 

NO ONE WAS STOPPING HIM FROM NOT PAYING TO ENTER THE STATION! 

The CTA mismanagers immediately cast negativity on the surviving coworker and our union presidents ABANDONED HIM. Not a single one advised him to get psychological help or contact an injury attorney!

After my video appeal on behalf of the survivor, our president’s assistant contacted him. After I suppose he was deemed a non-threat by her assistant, the president finally called him. 

The CTA mismanagers and politicians don’t want to take responsibility for slapping down DAILY complaints for the most basic safety issues (like stalkers, greasy rail car maintenance pits, rail yards with no walkways or working fire hydrants and broken station gates/doors). 

The CTA mismanagement just covers up the hazards and PUNISHES the workers for complaining!

For many years, I have collected and reported evidence of union-management collusion on this and other issues. 

There is no question that Two-Person Crews and assigning an experienced, properly compensated security person at every station is necessary. 

However, the insistence on policing by the same union people who side with the CTA mismanagers, BLOW OFF the CTA workers’ complaints and demands is a hypocritical distraction!

Our elected union leadership—and yes I am elected—is too busy organizing secret meetings with each other and the bosses. 

Instead of going directly to the membership and putting them in charge of organizing a plan of action, they are silencing and gaslighting the members. 

These elected union people and politicians do more to help our immoral, outlaw employer than the workers who maintain and operate the public transportation system. 

At best, our union presidents may organize a CTA-approved “protest” and march around the CTA palace, chanting ambiguous phrases about safety.

They are a disgrace!

Members need to organize on their own, hold the union officials responsible and take the necessary steps to preserve their own lives collectively!
