It's Cold as Death Out Here: Complain!

I don't need to waste your time with useless "be safe" boss-talk messages. We all know the CTA mismanagement doesn't give a damn if you lose a finger or pass out as an ice cube in the rail yards or on the platform. Then the cheap bastards will try to fire you for the injury.

You cannot be safe if you have no access to heat where you work!

If you are experiencing ANY signs of frostbite, that is a Contract violation! Specifically Article 1, Article 13.22 and Article 14.1(c).

If you are suffering, tell the manager/coordinator that "I need to be safe" and find a location where you can warm up. If they threaten, write you up, harass or disrespect you for it, contact me immediately and I will serve them a verbal warning and/or serve them with accelerated discipline.
