CTA Mismanagement Coming After Me…
UPDATE (4/21/2025): I have been unjustly punished with a 1-Day Suspension (unpaid) and "Gross Misconduct/Behavioral" violation on my record for wearing a uniform I paid for as I protested. The CTA mismanagement ignored our evidence of CTA workers protesting in uniform—and union leadership encouraging them to wear uniforms. Of course, I have been doing it for many years. Now, all of a sudden, I am being punished. A grievance, amended ULP charge and more steps are now in process. My union steward has advised me to keep all the details off of the internet until we get the various cases settled. Also, there will obviously be a shift in my online activity and open criticism of our outlaw, cheapskate employer. This writeup has pushed me closer to termination, as I have only served 1 out of 2 year for the unjust Safety Violation for using my cell phone during lunch. My duties as an official, properly-nominated and elected union officer, Virtual Union Steward Class and candidate for Local 308 president will continue at full-speed, however. So make sure you are registered and you won't miss important updates! Thank you for your support!
UPDATE (4/18/2025): Numerous coworkers and supporters of CTA workers are outraged about yesterday's writeup. Some are happy too (smile). Legal counsel has been contacted. More action is being planned in the background.
UPDATE (4/17/2025): CTA mismanagement has served me with notification of punishment for a "Behavioral Violation." This may be a termination or suspension. The suspension may be anywhere from 1 to 29 days. I have multiple off-the-record sources that confirm it is due to the Hands Off! protest. I will have my punishment meeting on Monday, April 21, 2025. My union president has been notified and I have requested union representation.
UPDATE (4/16/2025): The ILRB has responded with a case number: L-CA-25-047. The CTA mismanagement was served the charges as well. An ILRB investigator has given me until April 30th to respond to a list of questions regarding my charges. I plan to post my response after I submit it.
I am being harassed at work about my public protests about the Chicago Transit Authority's chronic abuse of the workers—and their denial of our human rights. The level of brazen outlaw misconduct by CTA mismangement never ceases to amaze me.
On April 11, 2025 I submitted an Unfair Labor Practice charge against them for trying to stop me from telling the world the Truth about how they terrorize us (see below).
This time I am going after the second-in-command of the CTA. I want him in court. Union-busting at the CTA starts and stops at the top of the organizational chart! These people are messing with the wrong man.
Of course, I am listing our union president as my representative. As always, I do not expect her to assist me at all. However, if she changes her mind, the door is open. If I win president, I promise to never be like her: Abandon officers, stewards and members who take initiative to fight CTA mismanagement.
I will post updates on this blog regarding its progress.
