Sign Nothing!

Stop rushing to sign stuff
When it comes to punishment, CTA mismanagement loves to give us lots of papers to sign. They call them by various names:

  1. Interview Record
  2. Writeup Notice
  3. Q&A
  4. Fact-Finding

Your union representative or steward should be present or have eyes on it before you sign it. In my experience, there is not need to sign any of that stuff. It also violates your Weingarten Rights. Putting your name on anything that relates to punishment makes you psychologically weak when it comes to fighting it.

Regarding Safety Meeting, new Bulletins, Seniority sheets and anything not directly related to punishment, I see no problem signing it. However, be cautious.

For signing off on silly things like socks, appreciation pins and food, I have no comment! But I am sure you know what I think.

Learn what to do if you get written up.
