What About Our Children, Nora?

This very positive initiative for child-size benches at CTA rail stations can definitely help improve our employer's marginal public reputation.

I applaud the effort.

However, it makes me wonder…

What about the children of CTA workers? They ride the trains and buses too!

What is [Acting] President Leerhsen doing about the people I represent who are constantly written up, suspended and terminated for needing to care for children that are sick?

What is [Acting] President Leerhsen doing to stop her underlings from breaking Illinois Law (Public Act 103-0797) as they punish the CTA workers that miss work because they must take a sick child to the hospital? What about the CTA worker who must stay home talk a child out of taking their own life?

As it stands, these people are being punished by [Acting] President Leerhsen and her underlings.

I can tell the world that she and the attorneys in the CTA Lie Department refused to honor the law in a grievance I submitted (with help from our union presidents and imposter union attorney). Moreover, I can tell the world that her attorneys tricked us into voting for a secret Paid Sick Leave waiver—the perfect remedy for family emergencies that require no burdensome FMLA red tape or favoritism and flattery with the boss.

Can each of you that read this article let President Leerhsen that all children matter at the CTA—even the children of the union bargained for employees? Use this feedback form at the CTA website

Also, please sign my petition demanding that me and my coworkers have Paid Sick Leave and Short-Term Disability benefits—which she and her managers have (we only get Short-Term Disability).
