Kimball Shop Union Busting Horror Show

I fight CTA mismanagement and inspire CTA workers to fight too
As predicted, the Kimball Shop mismanagement expelled me from the break room while sharing information and answering questions from the workers on Friday, August 10th.

Ironically, when I moved to the Operations breakroom—to visit train operators, servicers, switchmen, clerks and customer assistants—management there gave me no problems. Not even dirty looks!

Kimball Shop is the same location where a whole squad of police officers were sent to remove me and from where I received two safety violations for questioning them regarding abuse of workers.

Fresh off of an unfair labor practice charge against another manager there last month, this latest one is more fuel for the fire of their own destruction. One of their proteges was the respondent of another unfair labor practice charge for threatening workers with punishment for criticizing employee appreciation day. The case is now awaiting final judgement from the Illinois Labor Relations Board.

These people obviously think I am some kind of tool or subservient dog who will bend to their tyranny!

This is the only rail maintenance shop in the entire system with management that disrespects the rights of union members in such a manner. It is run by some of the most inhumane, insecure and ignorant managers I have ever known in my life.

Without a doubt, the attention these individual mismanagers are bringing to the CTA will have a detrimental effect on their careers. By picking fights with me—and attempting to fire and arrest me—they have created a behemoth symbol of Justice that cannot be chained nor contained.

I was elected by men and women of the Amalgamated Transit Union to defend the workers—and I take that privilege very seriously!

I will not bend. I will not bow. I will not compromise. I will not surrender!

And neither should you!

I invite all CTA workers to register for my Virtual Union Hall so you can learn about your rights and fight for what you deserve. You don't have to like me. But you better start standing up for yourself and your coworkers if you don't want things to get worse!

UPDATE: On August 14, 2024, the ILRB investigator requested my "Position Statement." I submitted it via email the same day (click image to enlarge).
